Bigvideo.js – Full Screen Background Video with jQuery
Bigvideo.js is a jQuery plugin to display fullscreen background images and video.
It is built on top of the video.js jQuery plugin and also requires jQuery UI and the images loaded plugin.
A single video can be played in the page background or a series of video’s can be played from a playlist.
As it is built on video.js, the video.js API is available to use.
Adapter – jQuery Slider Plugin
Adapter is a lightweight (8.9kb minimised) jQuery image slider plugin with excellent 2D and 3D (webkit and firefox only) transition effects. In legacy browsers, the transitions degrade gracefully and are replaced with a simple fade.
A number of methods and options are available to customise the plugin and these are all well documented on the github page.
Sketch.js – jQuery Canvas Drawing Plugin
Sketch.js is a jQuery plugin that makes it simple to create a canvas for drawing.
Buttons can be used to change the size & colour of the marker, select an eraser or download the drawing. The buttons use the HTML5 data attribute to update the canvas and can all be be styled with CSS.
Power Tip – jQuery Tooltips
Power Tip is a lightweight (6kb minified) jQuery tooltip plugin with a powerful set of features including:
- Hover intent – Prevents the tooltip from opening on accidentally hovering over the element.
- Queuing – The previous tooltip can be gracefully closed before a new one is opened.
- Multiple instances.
- Smart placement – Keeps tips inside the viewport.
- Fade In/Out.
- Keyboard navigation compatible.
The plugin supports eight different placements as well as a mode to follow the mouse inside a larger container element. It is also possible to add interactive content inside the tooltips such as links.
There is an API that will allow you progmatically show and hide tips. There are a number of options and events for customisation and everything is extremely well documented.
Mini JS – jQuery Plugins Suite
Mini JS is a collection of useful jQuery plugins that are written in coffe script.
The suite currently consists of a word counter for text area’s, tool tips, notifications, alerts, twitter feeds, and a drop down menu.
Each plugin is configurable with it’s own options and is also well documented.
They are tested in modern browsers including IE7 and upwards.
