Sequence – Responsive Slideshow jQuery Plugin
Sequence is a jQuery plugin with unique CSS3 transitions that works in IE7 and upwards yet degrades gracefully in older browsers.
It supports responsive layouts, touch & swipe and keyboard navigation.
The plugin allows you to easily create your own themes using only CSS. Three examples are provided (modern slide in, sliding horizontal parallax and apple style).
The documentation thoroughly lists all the available options, methods and callbacks and a guide to setting up the plugin & creating a theme is explained in great detail.

Backstretch – jQuery Full Size Background Plugin
Backstretch is a lightweight (1.2kb minified) jQuery plugin that will stretch an image to fit the size of the page and will automatically resize it if the window size is changed.
It can also display images as a slideshow or change the image on a click event.
It currently has options to configure the fade in speed and the axis on which to center to image.

Responsive Slides is a super lightweight (less than 1kb minified) jQuery slideshow plugin.
It has options to configure the speed of the fade transition, speed of the slideshow and to auto-play.
It also features pagination of the slides and is compatible with mobile and legacy browsers including IE6.
CSS is only required to style the pagination if it is used.

Slideshowify is a jQuery plugin that produces a Ken Burns style full screen slideshow.
Images that are too large to fit the window proportions are cropped and panned across the entire screen.
